Secalot is tested and known to work with the following operating systems:
- Windows 7 and newer
- macOS 10.11 and newer
- Linux. Tested on Ubuntu 17.04, will work with all modern Linux distributions.
Please complete the following setup steps for your operating system before using Secalot.
Secalot works out of the box.
To use the OpenPGP smart card functionality and for the Secalot control panel to work please install the smart card drivers that are available on the downloads page.
Please check your udev rules to make sure that your user account can access Secalot via USB. We provide a sample udev rules file that makes Secalot accessible for read and write for all users on the downloads page. Copy the file to /etc/udev/rules.d.
To use the OpenPGP smart card functionality and for the Secalot control panel to work make sure that smart card related packages are installed on your system
sudo apt-get install pcscd libccid libpcsclite1 libpcsclite-dev
To make the smart card driver recognize Secalot please run the CCID registration script that is available on the downloads page.
sudo python <path to script>
To use the OpenPGP smart card functionality with GnuPG make sure that “scdaemon” is installed.
